Just heard the New Panda that's not yet out in the UK has won European Car of the Year by 40 points form the new Golf and Mazda 3.

I'm interested in one, but not really for a while yet - they need to be shown to be reliable and have some sporty models too before I would place an order.

Anyone got anything to say about the new Panda?

I don't think reliabilty will be an issue. The Sporting will use the 1.4 16v lump from the Punto Sporting. Hang on, I have a picture somewhere..

So which market is this aimed at? Surely it will take sales away from the Punto and Seicento, or it is replacing the Seicento?

It's not directly replacing the Seicento, but the Seicento will not be available new from next summer. They will be sold alongside each other for a couple of months.

It's a citycar, sub-supermini market they're going for.

Too bad this car won't be seen in Norway. The importer claims the factory wants to sell us the car with a "winter package". Then the importer won't import it.

Read it in a newspaper, so it might be 50% true or 50% from the truth.

Also there was a flush of cheap new Seicentos through Trade-sales a few weeks ago, and you can't choose them now in the model list..
