Is anyone else noticing the poor performance with it on in the cold yet? I haven't had one on in the cold before but i've heard about the performance issues.

There is a hill near me I normally cruise up nicely in 4th gear with about 50% throttle.
9:30pm tonight, 7 degrees outside, k&n kit; full pelt in 3rd gear!!!:bang:

P.S. Don't ya just love the bangy head smiley?? hehe

Custard probably speaks of the main problem with any induction kit is the freezing up bit.

In theory it should go better to an extent.

yeah in theory the cold air holds more oxygen per cubic foot, giving the engine more air to mix with the fuel.unfortunatly when the carb starts iceing up at 3am on the motorway it aint fun.it was only on long runs such as motorways i had the probs, since the heat of the turbo kept it warm in town.

Mine seems fine, only when the engines freezing cold and im setting off from a slope ive gotta rev it a bit more.

If anything my car feels better in the cold once its at operating temp

Yeah definately...Im a big fan of the 2k flatspot going up hill on a cold morning!

Prob is, my average trip is a 10min blast, so the engine is usually getting to operating temp (90 deg C) when I stop.
Im currently on the factory airbox  But im just working on an induction kit...that should hopefully be done within 2 weeks:D

Top secret atm...few people know of it, but its gonna suck like a starved prostitute!!

Its gonna be good, im taking time to design it for best airflow (fluid dynamics has its uses ;))....well Im not, just trial and error until it all fits with no sharp edges and stuff.
