Fiat Forum Rally 2004?

It is a good idea, didn't think of the charity idea but not being mean here but if we were that into charity we would sell our cars and give the cash to charity! LOL

I couldn't even say whether I would make it, being in Scotland would add and extra day, fuel costs and B&B costs onto the rest so maybe but me and others off so i would say organise it and just wait and see who turns up. You knowe there is folk who will say "I'm up for it" then pull out at the last minute. As for route posting dunno who would want that responsibility but as a Fiat Forum non fiats would have to be banned I'm afraid!

Just my view and some thoughts.

How about you leave John O'Groats, we leave Lands End - and people place bets on where and when we smash into each other as we cross-over :D

Lol - Liam, a cunning answer with just one minor hole to pick in it!

Wherever you live, you have to drive to the start point. You also have to drive home from the finish. That means you'd have to drive a fair way to the start, but a mere pootle down the road to get home at the end.

I'm about half way between start and finish, so it'd be an even split to start and to home at the end.

If you add up the mileages for everyone, it'll be near as dammit the same!

Pete.

Just an idea, but in May of 2005, the real Gumball 3000 kicks off in London - so perhaps that could be our finish destination.

Other points to note are; ditch the non-Fiat attitude, as your gonna need quite a few cars to get this thing running, and your not gonna get that many from just one forum. Plus i want in :D

Whoever organises this needs to think big. Not Gumball 3000 big, but something we can be proud of. Perfectly planned, and well executed.

Awww christ, trust you Pete son! LOL

I'd love to attend one of these kinds of things, been over too see rallycinq and had an ace time talking to another owner (gf drives a mk 3 Fiesta Cabaret and isn't into car's at all - gotta change this - ooopppps forgot she cant drive and already poses a threat in the low powered ford tank) but he's only 24 miles from me eh as long as I had time to save up enough cash I would defo go even to chat to non cento owning peeps!

well lands end to johnogrotes has been done loads of times but theres nothing else in this country that actually means something like that journey does.

I think getting just fiats to do it would be a good idea but it would be better to have other makes too for a big crowd but we would have to have a proper banner than all cars have to have etc. but you could try to get clubcento, boo etc. envolved and then there might be alot of cars.

I wouldnt mind working outthe route.. its not as complicated as everyone seems to think. the route is easy, the start and finish points are hard seen as i doubt anyone here knows either lands end orjohnogrotes like the bakc of there hand. I think the route would be done is say, 3 days so it could be 2 nights sleeping in our cars or anyone lucky enough to find a b&b can grab it :p

lol it probably wouldnt work but how about following the gumballers? lol! :p although the majority would probably be left for dead lol :p

Abarth Kitted Cinq Sporting, New lil siggy pic coming soon, till then.... not much really lol

You have to have a meeting point every night, so you can keep track of who's still running, and who has vanished/lost etc.

The organisers would still have to be organising right up to the finish. Hopefully the route would be a mixture of roads, rather then motorways everywhere - then its just boring.

OK, here is a random thought about a potential rally!

Start point somewhere central in the UK - at a service station. Check out time is date/time stamp on burger joints receipt, thus stopping rush. Maybe a one hour limit.

Idea is to hit 25 service stations in the country, not known until you have checked out. Need proof, photographic and receipt, that each one has been visited - it is up to individual teams to arrange accommodation and route on the fly, because each team will have their idea of most ideal route.

Ok, possibly open to abuse [doctoring photos, etc], plus open to speeding, reckless driving, etc, but hey.

The check in time is the original place we all started from, and total time calculated for each team.

Maybe a theoretical time needs to be calculated, using Autoroute, and points added or deducted thereon.

Only a work-in-progress at this stage!

Stu, remember my beer consumption would be very low and being the top two hotties for FF, (plus having a judge aboard) we would go around looking damn hot!

I should find my auto route CD, hmm, now where did i put it? [?]

So, in my Ulysse is:

Me, Paul, Sammi and Gaz a la lager!!!

Only want 4 max, if this does come off. That way, middle two seats can come out, centre one becomes a table, makes it more comfortable all round!!!!

There is also a spare socket in back row for laptop :D, or another fridge :D:D
