An Englishman is on a rambling holiday in Wales. Feeling thirsty he bends down and uses his hand to scoop water from a stream.
Some distance away, a farmer shouts “Paid yfed y dwr”, as he knows there is a dead sheep upstream.
The rambler continues to drink.
The farmer draws nearer, still shouting “Paid yfed y dwr”, but the rambler takes no notice and continues to use his hand to scoop up the water to drink.
When the farmer reaches him, the rambler stops drinking “I’m dreadfully sorry, but I do not comprehend Welsh”.

The sheep COULD be regarded as racist to a Welsh person just as this could be regarded racist to a black person just hope we all got a sense of humor

the welsh guy i live with at uni live near several sheep farms and comes from sheep farming background. he finds that the way people make jokes about sheep to him is funny cause most welsh people have heard it all.
and he been teaching us welsh too

Or get someone to choke you while your trying to speak it so you can pronounce it right.
I am getting bored of H asking me to pronounce place names more or less everytime we drive past a sign with a really long name
Edit: I used to call Dolgellau dog a looo and i have been corrected its pronounced dol geth lie.......

we were looking at buying a house in Llansantffraidd-Ym-Mechain H was getting cocky cos he said we will only move there cos you will never be able to tell people where we live. But i pronounced it right - HA
