Hi does anyone have this. I setup AOL broadband on a mates pc last night it worked fine, today he called to say it was not working i went around to check it, i tried every thing but could not get it to work. only the power light is working, the dsl light is not does this mean that the server at aol's end is down.

Thanks

Check AOL's site for sevice status messages. Then the first question should always be... did you touch anything?

Can you talk to the modem from the connected PC?

:LOL:SL links should be self resetting, power off for at least 2 mins and try again. If you get no activity at all you likely have either a modem fault or a dissed line.

Got more additives than fuel in my tank.

if the DSL light is not lighting then the modem is not sync'ing with the exchange. Check the cabling to the phone socket, check the microfilters.

Its not necessarily a fault on AOLs equipment as there is more to :LOL:SL than that. It could very well be a fault with the BT Phone Exchange.

check http://www.adslguide.org for more info, the forums are handy on there as well

Cinq Sporting - and yes, its broom yellow!

If your connection light on the modem doesn't(light) then it's BT. The adsl isn't synching. If you don't have the line sync'd then you have no chance of connecting to your ISP(AOL).
