On my drive to work I pass a Honda dealer, and today out pops a brand new Civic infront of me. So new it has polystyrene on the wheels and some on the rear bumper (from what I could see). Anyway, it was on the public highway, but there was no number plate and and no trade plate visible from behind. I know it's being a bit anal, but if I wanted to complain about this (as it's technically breaking the law) who do I inform and how?
Since it's already March, then a main dealer could easily have it registered as an 06, taxed etc and then be able to deliver it. If they get away with going round the block with no plates, then it's only a matter of time before they go further, with no incentive to not be caught by speed cameras and could cause an accident and drive off. And if they're breaking the law like this, what else are they doing that's illegal? It could be a mistake - I had a test drive where the salesman almost forgot to put on trade plates, but we didn't get onto the road without them. Had it been a Grande Punto I expect I would have been too excited to think about complaining. Haven't seen one on the road yet!
