How long do points stay on you licence for?

I got some in april 02- do they come off soon?

3 years for totting up, possibly 5 years for insurance loading....

Yours expired last April.

4years but you dont have to tell your insurer after 3, i think

I've just read that stuf on that site and it's as i thought but I have in the past had points removed from my license after 3 years, for instance if I have renewed my licence for moving house, or you have lost it etc it has come back with nothing on it.

man, i need to send my licence off to get my 6 points removed! 3 came off jan 2005, and 3 off sept 2005. so really should send it off! but £19 quid to get points removed?!?! f u c k sake!

Yes, you are points free - even though licence is endorsed, they are not valid for totting up.

I must really get mine removed; I am still on the old-fashioned paper licence as well

Different insurers have different periods. Some ask about the last 3 years, some ask about the last 5.

but as my insurance man said, if ur points come off, and u dont declare them even if its still within 5 years since u got em, then the insurers dont have anyway of tracing em lol
