Koa just posted something about speed bumbs and it reminded me. Yesterday I went for a drive around Manchester as I have been doing a lot since it gets me out of my room....

I went up this side street with speed bumps, 30 limit. I went over the first one and felt nothing, odd...next one, nothing...I looked at them carefully and they were significantly thinner than my wheel base (distance between wheels right?). I took them at 30mph and it was just like normal driving. My kinda speed bumps ;)

Only problem was I was a little worried they might hit the bottom of the engine, luckily they didn't!

What a waste of time and money, I bet it cost them £1000s and they are about as useful as a paper boat. I might go back to get a picture since I barely believed it myself!

I am 50/50 whether the uno would have cleared them, I think it might have done.....I didn't have to try hard at all....

I know you often see the ones emergency vehicles should clear but never have i seen ones you can clear easily in a normal wheel base car...lol

I went along aroad not long back and the first two were dead easy on the car so I sped up 10mph to 30mph as I thought i'd be alright. The 3rd one was like Everest!!! I did the whole bounce around the cab, mints on the floor, back wheels in the air etc.. i bet they do that on purpose for a kick.

Down Woodborough road in town in Nottingham they have raised platforms, what the hell for I don't know, the poor double deckers struggle like mad! Anyway, they are all of a similar height, about 15mph for a smooth ascent/decent. Anyway, the last one before town (about the 8th) is like everest too, but you don't expect it. Somebody who doesn't know the road would be really pissed off by it.

Only thing I ever heard is "they had some crap left over....".

Down kings road near me they are usless!! However you still get the grannies going down at 15/20!! That is why i like my bike so much!! Only bad ones with my bike is the full raises at the junction!!

Cinq's fit quite nicely between the raised squares in each lane, other drivers hate you though!

Liam

I have to that. Its fun annoying drivers in Chester, they don't seem to get why i'm waiting for the road to be clear before attempting a speedbump :(

You guys should come down my area, if ever you get off a main road you will be attacked by road humps.. its like a horror movie "stay on the main road with everyone else or the HUMPS will come for you "

There are some really gay humps around here which have to be mounted and dismounted one wheel at a time to stop the front bumper from either hittin the hump on the way up or the road on the way down, I see a honda civic get stuck on one of em once (n)

Others you can literally take as fast as you want cause they are there for cosmetic purposes, we all know that councils have to spend a budget before the year is out or they get less money the next year, probably why some streets in my area are having the humps taken out. why not just spend the money on resurfacing all the roads
