I rarely get touched by things like this, but have been watching Oz on Youtube ever since he was a puppy. Hes everything a rottweiler stands for with a lovely temperament and an amazing personality. His owner has already lost one rottweiler to cancer and Oz has now been diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma, which is an aggressive, malignant tumor of blood vessel cells. http://www.oztherottweiler.blogspot.com

To put it simply, she is after some financial help towards hospital fees.

If you are able to donate her paypal is: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/w...63663d3faee8d4026841ac68a446f69dad17fb2afeca3

I have already donated and hope others can too if only a little. Or even help share this via facebook.

If there's one dog species that I wouldn't mind seeing eliminated its this one. Sure you can blame owners but they are inherently violent.

And before the high and mighty brigade wade in I know two people that have been savaged by these wild animals, and, know of many more.

I'd rather donate money to the bankers.

I'm also sure people would rather donate to save a human life instead.

Why don't you try a dog forum?

Sorry, ill rephrase that.

I understand how you may be biased, from hearing friends 'attack stories', but there are alot of not so narrow-minded people about that understand the need for training with more powerful breeds such as rotties. Unfortunately it is the scum of the earth that usually want breeds like this for this power, hence why things get out of control. If you do a little research im sure youll find many positive stories too.

I know it is a forum and everybody is entitled to an opinion, but this is something that does mean something to me as sad as it might sound.

Please dont turn this into a 'evil killer human hating dogs' thread as its quite pathetic.

If people are able to help, then please do, if not just ignore this thread.

And once again i press dislike instead of like! Whats the youtube channel called?

i wonder if MJ thinks the same about Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes being just as 'dangerous' i mean, after all they are on the US dangerous dog breeds list ... having owned a cross of the latter 2 i can tell you that it is all how you train them. if you train a dog to bark at intruders it will, just the same as if you teach a dog not to... it wont!

a lot of it has a second side. not so long ago a toddler was savaged in a bedroom above a pub by 2, iirc, doberman/pincher types. the media had a field day blaming dangerous dogs etc etc BUT i would bet my top dollar that if you leave ANY dog alone in a room with a toddler and the toddler pokes his eyes, pull his fur, bites him, grabs his tail, sticks a dummy up his arse then that dog will be a little peeved especially in a closed room with no way out. Now giving the dog the benefit of the doubt and assuming it would have growled/snarled/barked at said toddler to 'warn' it, the toddler WILL have taken this as 'doggie is talking/smiling, doggie likes it' and played it a little longer, untill the dog has had enough of warning and goes postal.

numerous occasions my little one has pushed both my husky cross and old english to the brink of annoyance the dogs have growled at which point we have seperated dog and child praised the dog for growling (rather than punishing for biting) and told child that growling means hes had enough. ive had no severed limbs or bloodshed from either parties involved. also my little bundle of joy has said that Diesel & Alfie are smiling at each other... when in reality it was a stand off of snarling before all hell broke loose and they started fighting!

i'm not a dog owner but i go up to any dog i am passing to say hello and have never seen agression from rotties staffies or any of the dogs always in the press, all the ones that try to bite me seem to be ones like grannies own

...they are inherently violent...

A dog that was bread for hearding cattle and carrying goods to market... then later used as GUARD dogs by police and security firms due to their intimidating presence. surely pitbulls and staffies would be better off with that generalisation than rotties but even then if trained right they're very loyal and soft. its when you train them to fight it becomes an issue.

i understand that there is an exception to every rule but ive always found that education is a much better form of prevention than blatent ignorance and narrow mindedness.

if you listen to the media on such dangerous dog stories then why not go the whole hog and believe everything they say... but personally i would never leave the house for fear of crossing the path of a hoodie or maybe a foriegn rapist or god forbid a romanian (or other EU countries) asylum seeker, comming over here stealing our jobs taking our women. (some of the more educated should see humour in the EU asylum seeker comment)

i once got attacked by my mates Alsatian, i walked in his house the dog came running up to me to say hello, i put my hand down to stroke him and next thing i know my mate was pulling the dog off me.

I got very lucky and he only got the sleeve of my coat but it was ripped to shreds and im thankful it wasent my arm.

this dog had never attacked anything in its life but something clicked with it that day.

I love dogs and that incident hasn't changed my opinion of them in anyway whatsoever (even Alsatians). dogs were once wild animals that hunted for there survival and it will always be somewhere in there genes just like our cave men genes.

I see why the police use Alsatians though! certainly gave me a shock

Its strange how people talk about Staffords and Pitbulls in the same way. They are completely different breeds that have very different personalities. I worked with The West Midlands Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue for almost 6 years(girlfriends mom ran it). Staffords are an amazing breed and nothing like what is portrayed in the press. In fact most of the bad press Staffords get are from cross breed Staffords, not pure pedigree Staffords.

Staffords in Victorian times had the nik name of "Childrens Nurse Maid" because they were used by rich families as "Child Minders" left in rooms with children to prevent the children being taken and held for ransom.

Staffords are very tolerant of children and make excellent pets. But as with any breed, when its owner is an idiot the dog will get the blame.

I've finally stopped crossing the road when I see a dog, been doing it for years! All down to me getting bitten when I was little by the window cleaners dog. And a few years ago by a mates dog, ended up in A and E because of that :(.

I know its not always the dog, but mainly the owner. My nans dogs are lovely, in fact even the puppy she got, I didn't mind it being sitting on me (she isn't allowed now, but she had just got it).

Dads dog on the other hand...****ing horrible thing! Jack Russell I think.

Police dogs...I've only seen them once, and it scared the poo outta me...hands stayed in my pockets the whole time!

Police dogs are meant to be scary i think lol Ive been stopped by police once before and they had dogs in the vans and even though i didnt see them they sounded very aggressive even though im sure they are soft as anything with the handler

When I had my training we had a demo by the dog unit, one minute they where chasing some guy, soon as the handler shouted something the dog stopped dead. Unbelievable!

If I'm ever on the run...soon as I see a dog, I'm stopping lol.
