And the rabbits! Got two last night.
Then there are the b...dy deer.

rabbits squirrels and rats are all casualty's of mine recently also get to see a fair few Deer coming to and from a Willow copse on my drive to and from work @dombooth should remember the road same road where i did a Jonny Wilkinson with a Pheasant only for it to destroy the front grill on my last GP....

A recent bird dropping has actually eaten the lacquer on the bonnet :(

So guess whats slowly gonna happen..... :(

However it means if i polish it true and make a mess of it - its a no loose situation, still will eventually have to have it resprayed

what i would recomend is you get

http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/30mm-sanding-block-for-spot-repairs-with-5000-grit-papers.php

(the 5000 grit is probably somewhere between old red bottle t cut and the metalic one)

and

http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/gtechniq-psystem-perfect-hand-polish-kit-100ml.php?manufacturers_id=72

to refine....

Take it easy and dont rush it... ;) if its on a crease just use the hand polish

there is a risk of going through the clear with the wet and dry block BUT you will have to go mad just take your time ideally get a scrap panel from a scrap yard and have a play ;)

Spilling coffee on my Asus transformer yesterday - twice! Thought it was ok but not charging up. It's discontinued now so can't buy another one :(
Insurance picking it up tomorrow to see whether it can be fixed.

Home insurance?

If its less than £400 to replace probably going to cost more in excess and increase premiums over the next 5 years than the claim will be worth.

Although might be some gadget cover you've got

No gadget cover, has been collected for assessment today. Worked perfectly apart from not charging from internal batteries or mains charger.:(

I can't afford not to use insurance, will see what happens to premiums, NFU didn't used to penalize for claiming - we'll see.

Other Gump:

On line job applications! :yuck:

2 hours applying for work for part time jobs at supermarkets that only pay minimum wage

Not particulary today but in general - Tradesmen!!!! Especially the tossers who don't turn up or say i'll get back to you and don't. And they wonder why people DIY!

There is always some sort of a penalty for claiming, just hope it's not a costly one.

Did you shop about for a price done yourself  might have only been a circuit board or something? Hope they get it sorted quickly though.

Had a look at an online guide to taking the thing apart, needed tools which I don't have. Besides the last time I dealt with an electronic clock I managed to blow it up

Best to leave these things to the pro's, hopefully mum won't notice a small rise in the premiums next year...

Car has been in body shop since Monday to rectify issues with their original repair of paint not matching, panel gap and a few other things.

Had the body shop owner try fobbing me off saying the colour match is as good as they'll get etc etc without blending other panels which apparently insurance company are unlikely to authorise. I advised this is unacceptable. Played the hardship card and how insurance only just authorised half the work work to be done in the first place (IE replacement bumper rather than bumper repair).

He then tried saying they'll try mopping it it - spoken to someone who knows about his paint and said what they plan on doing won't work.

Just spoken to insurance company, assuming that body shop would have already been in touch as they mentioned getting insurance accessors out to authorise blending in panels due to the paint difference, and they've not heard a dickie bird, so now got them chasing it.

Get the feeling that the body shop are only telling me half the story - and they're suppose to be the best in the area, yet to hear someone say a bad thing about them, so trust me to be the one getting all the crap. :bang:

After a phone interview earlier this afternoon I got an email, not even got to the assessment phase - for a company I worked for 7 years for - though it was 10 years ago.
Moral of the story is if you get sacked you can't go back

someone parks outside neighbours house which neighbour uses to park his work van, neighbour comes home and parks his van in front of both of driveways so im blocked in, this area should be made a permit holder area but probably never will be:(
that hasnt been a sign of the owner of the vehicle, so annoyed i have to go out tonight and need the car. bloody idiots:banghead:

Ring police and complain about an obstruction.

i will do if theres no sign of owner within half an hour, the bad thing with my street anyone can park here as they like cause no parking is allocated to anyone and its a non-permit holder area, it annoys me cause ive had instances of this before in the past where some random car parked right in front of my car, called police and they dealt with it that time, so the police will be on the cards if the owner dont show up within half an hour:)

Two things:

  1. Although the weather forecast said it would clear up, this evening: it's still raining; and I'm trying to get Pippin ready for Castle Combe, tomorrow.
  2. Just checked the Punto into the garage... -- as there are signs of very slight water seepage from the front of the cylinder head. Thankfully, the oil is still a nice colour (after a year and 8,000 miles); and there are no signs of mayo, etc.. It's also been driving like a dream.... Waiting for a report back -- but (knowing what Puntos can be like) expecting a new HG and some skimming to be needed....

The "deliberate mistake" on my breather hose replacement was a missing jubilee clip. I only noticed when I looked at the photo....

Thanks, Benny! (y)

Like your welding, this is a bullet I'm just going to have to bite.... I'm not well enough to do it myself; and, having already spent too many hours and too many pennies on the car, I'm not willing to let it go for something that's relatively simple... -- especially as no harm has yet been done.... I'm thinking of it as 'preventative maintenance'; and avoiding the "oh sh*t" moment that occurred when the cylinder head cracked on my Isuzu....
