As in the title....

Just had a look around as my car needs to get some work done which could take a week....

I'm guessing no companies would rent a car to ayone under 21 though?

If anyone know's any different please help me!

And no getting insured on my parents car isn't an option (coupe 20VT  )

i dont think any do... insurance doesnt cover it. when my abarth got written off the company dealing with it got me a rental car, cost the other guys insurance over £60 a day for the extra insurance cause i was under 21!

I rented a car once for a couple of days - that was when I was 17 2 years ago. Now though I've tried again and you're right nobody will do under 21's. The impression I got was that whilst they are legally entitled to rent cars to under 21's they don't do it because other countries Europe and USA have banned it and once the big companies changed their policy, everybody else has too. No harm in looking though, you can always get insured on a friend's car if you know anyone no using one!!

Already tried asking my mates and even my dad to borrow his laguna but the tax is up on it the end of the month :bang:

Ah well have to dig my bike out then :(

Hey bikes are cool - saves on the pennies too! :)

OR you could buy that rather excellent Uno Turbo which has just turned up in the auction section (obviously that would cost a few more pennies!)

Is rather tempting not sure who would hate me more though my Mum or kirsty if I bought another car :D

I usually have sigs switched off but i just noticed a rather nice Y10 in your signature - do you not have that any more or is it off road?

P.S. Get your dad to ask nicely about insurance on the laguna, persuading them to take you is the hard bit but if they do you might be pleasantly surprised at the cost! I paid just £17 I think for a week on me dad's Octavia!

But then still gotta get insured on that then.... (n)

If the cars is still insured in someone else's name ask to be added to there insurance for one week as you can do this no problem.

When I went to collect turbo Cinq I had got insured from that day but added my mate for one day only so he could drive it back for me, cost £12 or something.

Aaron.

Yeah my dad's looking at getting rid of the laguna and has just cancelled the insurance like 2days ago which is just my luck!!!

The Y10- One day it shall be back on the road

Aaron wanna lend me the cinq for a week? Or the Evo i'm not picky

Wont need it till the 8th of Feb ;)

WR, any booking I can get on that site so far says:

Rate Conditions.
The driver should be greater than 23 and less than 74 years of age

Ok, come to Blackpool Europcar and they'll lend you one!!

Well I dont know why I was allowed, could be due to the AA hiring it for me, but I doubt they would make exceptions just for the AA and no one else

Could they have changed the poilcy in 2 months?

No idea, they DON'T seem to ask for your birthday on the booking form so maybe AA just do it without giving it a thought? All I can find is that if you are 23-25 you have to pay an extra 7.10 a day, nothing about 17+. Although I can't say I have read the whole website lol.

I would seriously consider hiring a car for a weekend, i miss driving! lol how sad.

Paul
