It so happened that I was doing my flying lessons at Manston Airport which is home to the Coast Guard (or at least one of them) for the Dover cost when this happened & managed to get a trip out with them the day after this happened to have a look. The Coast Guard pilot was really good he managed to get the Tri-Lander plane that they have down to about 100ft from the hull of the ship, it was a site to behold the sheer size of it just lying there on its side.

Great pictures I remember seeing some of them in the paper at the time... I like the ones with cars hanging out all over the place the scale of it is amazing!

Was it in a particularly shallow area or had it been kept afloat by an air pocket or maybe it just hadn't got round to sinking all the way. I might know if I ever watched the news.
