I.D cards

Hmmm... I have had the very same thought, but for slightly different reasons.

He's blind, he can't see anything!

Seriously though no I don't think it's weird and I don't think it's at all relevant that he is blind. Despite the fact that many people say he's only there to make Blair look good (equal oppertunities and all that) I have a great deal of respect for him doing such a high profile job with such a disability.

No quite right!! In fact I'm not a David Blunkett fan at all but I do have a lot of time for blind people who get on with their lives so well.

Do they/can they make braille pictures for blind people?

But it has to be asked... do we really need Biometric ID cards... I don't mind ID cards, but I do object to being required to give finger print DNA samples, on the whym of the government.

I don't believe in separate ID cards, but if it could combine some of the rubbish we currently have to carry it would be handy. Why not use it to combine passport, driving licence, NI and medical card all into one? That way you could start off with a basic card at birth (or 16 or whatever) and have bits added as you get older and become relevant. However the government would never bother with that because it makes too much sense and makes our lives easier instead of harder :bang:.

I wouldn't mind the ID card system. Wouldn't really have a negative impact on most people's lifestyles.

So it's additional to everything else? I would have thought it combined several things...hmmm government's gone mad in that case.
