Hello guys, I need some help with the insurance as I am getting quotes at around 3-4k. I just passed my test this week and I was looking at the insurance prices. The best one I had was about 2k but with a black box! But I will never have one because there's no point driving as it controls how fast you go etc. Any good companies you know which will do for around 2k but without black box? Thanks guys

It's impossible for members to answer your question: "Any good companies you know which will do for around 2k...?" as your quote will be individual to you. Admittedly younger/inexperienced drivers will all suffer from higher insurance premiums until they can build up ncb.

Have you bought the car already? If not you're more likely to make a saving by getting quotes on various different cars to find one that's cheaper to insure. Cars that most young drivers avoid could see cheaper rates as there won't be many claims stats available for the car/age combination that insurers can rely on to load the premium.

Hope that makes sense.

best,
Nick

Just to echo Nick at CK to be honest, almost every detail you provide to an insurer will have an impact on the price you pay, and no two individuals have identical information.

By all means give us a try for insurance if you like, if you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for our quotes team to get in touch.

We do offer a 'Smartbox' policy which does use a smartbox, however this is a mileage counter - It doesn't monitor your driving styles or speeds, only the mileage you cover. So as long as you don't exceed the miles you state you will cover, there is nothing additional to pay. This may work out cheapest for you, we of course do offer standard policies if not. As a broker, we'll look for the most competitive price be it with a smartbox or without.

I look forward to your PM.

Regards,
Dan.

Okay so how do you want me to send all my details to you? By messaging you ?

I have send you a message with all the details. My phone number is (removed)

Just to confirm what the others have said, you'll just need to shop about yourself as all insurers will be different for different people.

Try all the insurance aggregators, then those not on aggregator sites such as Aviva, Direct Line etc, and then the brokers on here etc.

Your comment about blackboxes seems a bit stuck up IMO, if you're not willing to pay the higher premiums then you're going to need to make a compromise. You're a new driver, and you need to remember (as harsh as it sounds) that driving is a privilege, not a right. As such you're going to have to make a decision on how you want to insure your car.

Cheers, for now on the best company with best price is Diamond 2500
