Sorry to go off topic but since the OP wants it closed then oh well.
Has your dash cam actually led to a stupid or bad driver being convicted? Because I've seen some ridiculous stuff done and lethal near misses and would love to be able to hand in some footage to the police. :D

I have no idea what the outcome was for the other guy but his initial report was along the lines of "two lanes merging into one, he drove into the back of me". My report was, T junction with 2 lanes at the lights opens up to 3 lanes after the lights. Left lane splits into two, right lane continues to be the right lane. I stayed in my lane, taking the middle of the three (as per road markings), the other guy zoomed through the lights in the right hand lane, hesitated, then cut me up.
Insurance asked me if I had a witness - my son, but not allowed as not independant, so the claim will have to go 50/50. So I said "will video off my dashcamera suffice?".
My insurance contacted the other company and asked them to ask their guy if he wanted to alter his statement - apparently not. I submitted my claim, along with photos of the scene from google earth (showing all road markings) as well as the original video PLUS additional video where I drove the same route & it clearly showed other cars following my route - as per markings.
Within a few days i got a call to take my car for inspection & book it in.

I'm guessing the other guy got hammered by his insurance for lying through his back teeth. His version of events was so far from reality it was unbelievable.

The cam saved my insurance company well over a grand - but they won't offer a discount, it also saved me £650 excess (I offer to pay a high excess to get very low premiums) so it has more than paid for itself.

You believe that John , i know whats true and whats not, call the police... My insurance is sorted out they can't do anything :) I hardly boasted about it either haha, I'm new here, and a new driver, i got advice of some helpful people on here, and flamed at by others IE you. I took the advice off the helpful ones and changed, and ignored the abuse you are giving me.

Why should he call the Police - John is a JP. If anything, he is not being abusive, he is just stating the law and what he has to deal with on a daily basis.

As for you not boasting, your first post was stating that you had found a miraculous way to get your premiums down.

Anyway, I would suggest this is dropped now - go and enjoy your car, get some pics of it up and join in the forum banter, ok :)

I am sorry you found the truth unpleasant. My intention was to inform anybody who read your first post just how stupid it would be to copy you.

It may be expensive doing things properly but its much better than getting a criminal record.

If you can't afford to pay what everyone else pays maybe you should try ikube, I know allot of people are against it as they say its like your tied down but it's better than fronting which basically means your F*ked if you crash, at least with ikube your covered in a legal way, I'm with ikube simply because I wouldn't have been able to afford the insurance normally, I was getting quotes at around 4-5 grand and my insurance ended up been 1300 which isn't bad at all to say I only turned 17 other week. I can understand why some people can't go on ikube as they might work through the restricted times but to people who want to go full because they are afraid they won't be able to go far places its ell worthit imo, you can still go far and leave it, it just can't be moveing, and even if you wanted the odd night moving it costs 100 quid a night, which is better than paying an extra 3 grand!
Instead of complaining you can't afford normal insurance and go the illegal way about it, think about the other possibilities!
p.s. bad idea of making a thread out of this, you should listen to what people are saying rather than crying about what they are saying.

Actually he is with aviva which you DO get NCB as a named driver and also direct line gives NCB to named drivers. so he will be building up his no claims bonus. Also how is he putting everybodys premiums up? he is insured but just as a named driver which obvs he IS insured, otherwise they would not had insurance where you put named drivers on, why dont you save having a go and have a go at all those actually UNINSURED drivers out there.
I take it you have no concept as to what FRONTING means then?

EDIT - quoted before your edit :) LOL
