ahhh HAAAA

i knew that was the best way to do it but everyone told me I was stupid when i did it in my tipo!

great work mate! cant wait to see it finished!

Could you Post a pic of the one you did? Definately the best way to do it, bloody strong, doesn't rattle about in the boot and doesn't take up your whole boot either!

thanks for the comments.

I never actually finished the tipo one as i sold the car to my gfs dad and he wouldnt have wanted it..plus it wasnt finished anyway.

this is as far as I got.

was gonna fibreglass a layer on and then smooth with filler like you have but I was told by a few people that it wont work and should have made a mould to start with and done it that way etc.

Does the Sei stink now? ;)

How thick was the material you used over the sub ring?

It looks good (y)

if its too big just get a big tub of polyfiller and plaster it inside to reduce the volume :p

could work :D.. how would you calculate a box that doesnt have any measurable sides

Well you can work out the rough area using flat measurable surfaces ;) Or you can use some akward maths i learn at A-Level which could work it out :D

or, you can get something pliable like a bag of sand with the correct volume, and see if it fits inside the box ;)

Polystyrene balls out of a bean bag were used and it came out at 23.9 litres. The sub (normally) needs 22.6 litres.

But i haven't put sound deadening material in there yet. In the instructions for the sub it says that the box should be 22.6 for normal, 35.7liters for maximum volume.

So given the the box is a little bigger than the recommended size, i don't think its a bad thing.

The material was 2mm velvet. It worked well. But wasn't as strong as fleece would have been. so it was overcoated in 8 coats of fine fiberglass mat. now it's strong.(y)

So how thick is it now?
