Hey there, first time on the forums. I am installing a sound system in my friends P reg 1.1 fiat punto. I am familiar with installing an amp and 6*9's so that should not be a problem. There is currently the original tape player in the car. An ugly old black brick! lol.

I need to know, do i take it out using iso removal pins? And when it is out, are the connecters just standard ISO ones? (y) so then i can just stick the cd player straight in. If not? is there an autoleads wiring harness or other type i would require?

I know these are basic questions, but i need to be sure just so i dont tell my mate to order the head unit and then find out i would have to cut and solder wires :bang: as that is probably beyond me as i have never done it before.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Im not 100% sure but im guessing you'll need the punto ISO adapter, which you will get as a stock item in any Halfrauds, motorworld... as its a common car. Simply go into a store and if you see a mk1 adapter you know it will need one. (y) Apart from that its just a straight swap of the arial...

And removal pins, yes you wil need removal pins, but you may be able to strugle it out with something. I managed to get my old head unit out with 4 very small screw drivers. :D

Hope this helps a little. Dan

If your mate is getting it from halfors, ask to borrow the tools, my halfords were pretty helpful like that. Cocktail sticks also work, you have to stick them into the 4 little holes.

when i did mine on my punto it just plugged straight in.

Its not that hard to solder, easy when you get the hang of it, you want to try to weld thin sheet metal with an arc welder! Now that's hard! :bang:
