Sounds like it will be good, i take it you will be deadening to anal levels or have you stripped the boot to do a full build.
Still no pics of those front door builds.

Are you having full door builds Oz, or just using solid spacers behind the standard grill?

Sounds like it will be good

i DAMN well hope so :p

yes and yes.

2 bulk packs of max matt pro (which is brilliant) and some skinz products on just about EVERY bit of metal we can get to.

Still no pics of those front door builds.

theyre just MDF baffles. nothing fancy. 2x 18mm rings with a 'wedge' inbetween to angle the second baffle up a bit so that the speaker sits facing upwards a bit in an attempt to raise the stage hight slightly.

Kris, im keeping it as simple as possible for financial reasons. also i want it to be as 'stealthy' as possible whilst still having some 'wow' factor. Hence the name ;)

Ahh when you told me the whole thing was made of MDF i got the wrong idea LOL i get what you mean now.

Are you spot deadening or just going for total coverage.

How hard was the carpeting to get all the way out last time i tried i got stuck with the plastic trims, i would like to know weather it would be relatively easy to put back again after. I am thinking of using the deadening i have ATM in the boot rather than doors as the boot is nowhere near finished so i think now would be the best time.

Are you adding another batt back there.

not hard to take apart. some guesswork and gentle persuasion required though.

As for putting it back together I have no idea. i completely forgot how it came apart :p so thats for the installer to sort out.

you may have seen my posts regarding that deadening. im still rather sceptical. bitumen based stuff has a tendency to melt and 'goo' in hot weather or harden and go brittle and crack in the cold.

Falling off in both situations.

I would only use on the boot floor and the floorplan if you're going anal.

Are you adding another batt back there.

oui oui, when i have another batch of disposable dosh. as im hoping to go back to DLS Ultimates, and theyre current hungry b*****s!

Go to town on the deadening in the doors, I did! Full coverage on the outerskins with damplifier and spot coverage on the inner skins (all that's possible really as the panel is heavily contoured / broken up by fixtures and fittings etc.). I spot deadened the door cards and filled the panels with polyester wadding prior to reassembling the doors and I still get the occasional rattle with the mids high passed at 50hz and a potential 110 watts RMS through them. Do not skrimp on the doors trust me (y) Oh, and decent deadening products do not fall of as long as the panels are grease free prior to application :slayer:

I know about the power hungry DLS as a proud owner of the A7.
Ah Kris by the way I never did run the comps passive i gave them another tweek and i no longer have cutout and i love the volume of 200w RMS as side. One side is pushing Lower frequencies than the other but personally i cant here anything particularly wrong with it
Anybody know of anything that i can use for Mid/treble that can run off the mono channel of the A7 if i have it modified. It can go down to 1ohm@600w :slayer:

I have that bitumen 4mm deadening ATM i honestly dont know who makes it but i have left it in the cold shed over the last week so well see if it cracks (if it does then that will be a very expensive experiment)

well ive just picked her up, and simply put, I have fallen in love with Estella all over again.

The hour long drive back from Sonic Fronteirs was spent giggling like a 2 year-old.

Hats of to Lee, as the workmanship is amazing given the timescale and amount of stuff to be done.

So since Oz is a happy bunny, he is going to tease with a low quality pic every day :p

Those tweets are huge :slayer:

yup, and thats why we had to go with custom builds and not just a simple slot in job :slayer:

all the better really as now theyre properly aimed and covered in shexy alcantara

however there is still A LOT of tuning to do as currently the tweeters are out on a mission to murder me :bang:

but in due course all will be sorted. I'm just really happy its all in and installed to a beautiful level. I've been collecting the stuff for over 2 years now and it was really annoying me watching it all just sitting there

anyways, onto todays low quality pic:
