It sounds very good. It takes about 20 hours of playing for speakers to run-in. Then we will adjust the settings some more and that will be it.

How come you took the steering wheel off and dismantaled the front of the HU?

I'm gonna hazard a guess as so to have the steering wheel controls working with his HU

I guess, but abit dangerous for people to sell the parts if you have to remove the airbag etc?

Oh yeah! Couldn't tell why before but now you;ve said that it makes a huge difference.

Yes. The steering wheel was dismantled for installation of remote control from alpine HU.

Is that just the standard Alpine remote? Would love to know how you did this as it's something I will be looking at start of next year.

Yes, it's standard remote. But it's not wired to the HU. A little "receptor" is sticking out from steering wheel, so it comunicates that way to HU.

If you do this Paul for competition use, aim the IR transmiitter (you can extend this with fibre optic if need be ) in such a way that so that the signal only transmitts to the HU when the wheel is straight. Then the judges can't say that the instalation is unsafe whilst driving :yum:

When my mate won the European finals he did a similar thing , every little install point gained at that level counts

I have some spare ir receptors from my touch screen if anybody feels that they would be useful.

Im not sure if IR is IR though they may be different frequencies.

Well i have the remote for it aswel so if you need that to adapt the transmitter to match up then you are welcome to it.
