ok in last few days when playing my cd's it randomly starts cutting out onto the radio station so i have to click the cd button again to go back on the cd.

the same way as if it cuts out onto the traffic report.but the stations it changes to aint got traffic report.:S any ideas? does it every few minutes.

please help

mines has done that before.. the cds are the copies... ( backups ) , either they could be scratched or at least thats what i think...

hmmm dont think it is actualy because my cds ive tried are originals and notscratched. and last night it suddenly turned off and switched back onitself:S. maby loose wirings or something?

Take it as the stock one in fiats?
Mine was the old Cassette type... and that would switch itself on and off
Weren't cables, in the end it wouldnt even switch on no more....
So i wacked a new one in - which was old - it must of been dropped as it stopped pretty soon

So i put another new one in. and its been fine ever since!

its a non standard fiat blaupunkt cd player.its been fine in a year but its just been hapening lately.

hmmm ok its annoying me now. it randomly switches off too and turns back on:S please any ideas? could it be the head unit on its way out?

i've had my JVC unit for 2 years now and mine has started to change from cd to radio too...and the other day i had came back from a longish journey after listening to cd all the time and when i stopped in the drive, it turned to radio and then turned the volume up really high. whats more is that i have a sub hocked up and it nearly shock the car apart, i can see the headunit being the result of my sub going at some point. :bang:

how long have you had your headunit for?

hmm.well i bought my car 1 year and half ago and the head unit was on then.so i dont know when the previos owner put it in to be honest

well if the cd is fine, theres no TA enabled, then the head unit could be on the way out

but if its just switching on and off randomly then it sounds to me like you need to check out the wiring behind it first!

what kind of cd changer do this?!

When CDC send idle command to HU, the HU mute for a moment the sounds...

Normally the IDC-A09 CDC-A08 and Loudlink SSD Changers not send idle command... only case of fault... (unreadable disc, conctact error on CDC bus, etc)

Yes!

hmmi went to halfrauds today and the chap told me that because of DAB theres new silent signals and beeps that interfiering making switch it onto the radio:S. i wanted to say "what the fcuk u onabout?".

this is the best bit...he said "do u listen to radio much?" i said sometimes. he said "the only way to stop it is to disconect the radio so u have no radio at all". grrrr stupid idiot.

im going to get my cousin to check the wiring etc next week to see if it is lose wires or its all on the way out.

oh another problem i have is now....when im on FM it wont let me change station:S. so im stuck withn radio 1. (as good as it is i would stil like to go to kerang etc)

it only lets me change station on crappy MW.

any ideas?lol sorry bout this people

Send it back and buy a better one i will try and have a look into what the guy said though.
it only lets me change station on crappy MW.

The traffic triggers have been around nearly 10 years if that's what he's on about, parents Renault Laguna had it well before DAB existed, there should be a setting in the menu somewhere to disable/enable it (my aftermarket one does).

Disconnect the antenna to solve: he hasn't a clue what he's on about. I'd take it back and get a different one aswell just to prove a point

Im not sure that is what he is saying i think that maybe what he is suggesting is that the weak.... Actually no i havnt got a clue unless it is switching for Traffic Reports it has no reason to switch and the unit (though it may be in design) is faulty and sounds like typical Ripspeed crap (am i right on the make)

Yeah if it isn't traffic reports it's jumping to then it's been built crappily or a ****e design!
