What you will need,

A Aux In kit. I got it on Ebay, you can get one that will fit straight in with a little yellow block on the end. This saves having to cut the blue plug up.
A wire coat hanger (Cut the two corners off leaving prongs of equal length).
Some flathead screwdrivers and other leavers.
A sharp knife.
And some electrical contact cleaner (not necessary but good to clean up all the connectors)

Removal,

First off, remove the negative terminal from the battery (safety first!).

Then using the cut coat hanger push the two U sections into the holes in the radio (see pic). Push until you feel a slight click.

Then Using a bike tyre lever or small flathead screwdriver, gently leaver at the side of the plastic casing. This should release the whole head unit. There may be some velcro that gives some resistance but it will come with a bit of persuasion.

Wiring,

Make sure the head unit is not dangling by the wiring loom. Gently pull out the blue green yellow connector. There is some resistance but it will come with a little wiggling.

Having a blue plug instead of the yellow one, I needed to remove the connectors from the casing. I used a very sharp knife, take care when doing this as the plastic suddenly gives way and it would be easy to cut yourself. I started by whittling down the corners revealing the first two connectors. After removing them the middle one was easy to attack.

I then connected the three clips to the spades to check orientation of the wires (as when you push them into the block thats permanent). I reconnected the battery and played some music. Using the accessibility menu I adjusted the left right balance to check that I had the left and right wires on the right spades. (From memory it was white on the top black earth in the middle and red on the bottom).

Wire routing and finishing,

If you look to the back left in the whole you can see through to a brown material on the bulkhead.

And looking upwards from the passenger foot well:

If you feed the wire through to the brown material, the end will drop into the passenger footwell. Then it can either be fed into the glove box or towards the cup holder area all behind the dash.

All thats left to do is push the radio back in and enjoy! Make sure to feed the wires back into the correct place as you replace the head unit so nothing snags.
To bring up Aux as a source hit the CD button twice.
