One is handy with 45HP if you have a 999cc Panda and just love to go around roundabouts fast or take it on trackdays. It is not the power that creates the requirement, it is the usage of the vehicle. The more power you have, the more you might notice it not going down through corners in comparison to straights. Turbo cars can benefit more in general due to an increased reliance on traction due to their high torque output. Suspension and tyres are the first port of call for these sort of traction problems though.

FIAT/Abarth obviously don't think it's needed up to 200BHP with the driving expectations of their customers.

I'd love one in my 500 but I think it would be rather wasted in a 1.2. Still surprises me that a 1.2 with 69bhp and grippy 195 width tyres can spin its tyres so easily.

Don't they use the ABS system to stop the spinning wheel?

Certainly the 500 does. This is more of a handy feature to save people from themselves, rather than a serious performance aid that redistributes the power to the non-spinning wheel. There are discussions about the "electronic diff" feature elsewhere on the forum.

May have one for sale if I hear back from here really soon - my car is written off with damage at the back end, am changing to MX5 this time & can't convince myself to buy her back again due to the level of work required to strip her down in order to cover the buyback cost so may just take my payout & give up but if I knew I had a buyer I might be convinced. Car is in Nuneaton at the moment.

How much is the buyback going to cost?

They are after £500 for me to keep the car but I REALLY can't be arsed with the effort, although I know I can get more in total back.

The LSD has an unlimited warranty from Quaife & shouldn't actually be damaged at all as the front diddn't take a hit.

mate id take it... I know its hassle but you will make your money back VERY quickly.... heck Id give you more then that and pick it up now. just to break it lol

Ditto. it would be a great pity for the gearbox from the car to go on ebay and get put in some granny's car who will never appreciate it, or worse yet for it to be melted down.
