Technical Seat belt warning sound

there has to be an option by law as many of the population, such as drivers with an amputated arm are exempt from wearing a belt. I don't know if it will work on a Grande, but on Fords, if you click the seatbelt in and out 3 times whilst the alarm sounds, it will deactivate it for that journey (unless you stall). Obviously though, I would not recommend driving without a belt at all.

whats the point in that though cos once youve plugged it in its more hastle to take it out again anyway! (n)

To get a UK Fiat Dealer to disable the sounder you need a form from the DVLA stating that you are exempt from wearing the seat belt for whatever reason, otherwise they shouldn't really disable it for you.

:yeahthat: you need to have a seatbelt exemption certificate

My dealer disabled mine for me. Cost me a tenner. Annoyed the sh*t out of me as I tend to carry a bag on the passenger seat and kept getting the lovely **Bing, Bing Bing!!**

I get around that problem by clipping the buckle in the holder.Car then thinks it`s got a passanger.IMHO,the beep is there for a reason, i.e. to ensure people wear safety belts.
IIRC it`s possible to reduce the volume by going to Menu Options.

From the Handbook...

S.B.R. SYSTEM

The car is fitted with the S.B.R. system (Seat Belt Reminder), consisting of a buzzer which, together with the turning on of warning light on the instrument panel, warns the driver to fasten the seat belt.

The buzzer can be deactivated (until the next engine stop) as follows:

* fasten the driver’s and passenger’s seat belt
* turn the ignition key to MAR;
* wait for over 20 seconds and then release one of the seat belts.

For permanent deactivation, contact Fiat Dealership.

With digital display, the S.B.R. system can only be reset at Fiat Dealership.

With multifunction display, the S.B.R. system can also be reset through the set-up menu.
