I've noticed that when I start my car my stereo automatically comes on and shows "media player" It never used to come on when I started the car and I've got nothing plugged into the USB (I did) Any ideas?

I wonder if this is related to your other issue, if the headunit thinks a USB device is being connected this may override the 'Range' display
I've sorted the range issue. This is separate. No matter what I do when I start the car the stereo turns on to media automatically. It's as if it thinks the USB stick is there

I've sorted the range issue.

Could you update that thread with how you sorted it? Just for anyone else who happens to have the same issue in the future, and for my curiosity :p

Try starting the car, inserting and then removing the USB stick, if it goes back to 'normal' then try turning the car on and off and see if it remembers that. Blue&Me is a bit terrible so it might be that the USB was removed while the car was switched off and it's in a state of confusion.

In theory, the B&M will remenber wich state it was when car was last turned off, I like the idea of re-inserting a USB device, turn the system to radio, remove the USB, toggle the car OFF and ON again and see if it wakes up on radio then ...

I'll give that a go! Good idea

Yep gonna give that a go. Sound logical!

I noticed in the other thread that his car also doesn't remember the fuel range display view after a shutdown. Maybe one of the ECU's resets when the car is shut down or power gets interrupted when starting the car (could be weak battery or bad connection/ground).

Thecaratekid , are there any other settings being reset after restarting?

No nothing resetting. The range remains on display and works fine

This is driving me insane. Nothing seems to be working. I've done every conceivable way and Media Player still comes on as soon as I start the car

Have you tried to proxy align it ?

That's an operation that 'resync' the various CAN devices on the car, must be performed with MES or o.c. at Fiat dealer.

Ok. Wow all this for a simple issue with the radio. It all started when I inserted a usb.

I only see 1 usb port. It has a rubber cover

That's the one at the front in the glove-box, must be another one on the side: this one is the Media port ! The rubber pliugged one is for updating the system...
