hi guys

I just got a Grande Punto, JTD 2007.

When I use my rear sprinkler, it does not work. All of the fluid ends up in the hole on the left side of my car, I have a left hand drive. It ends up I the compartment behind the carpeting in the left side, and eventually goes out on the left side of the rear bumper, straight to the ground.

I’m thinking its the cable that is broke? Has anybody had this problem before?
does anybody know where and how the fluid goes to the sprinkler?

Thanks a lot!

Most likely fail point is where it attaches to the jet (sprinkler nozzle), so start there. Access may need trim removal. The fluid will run along the pipe to exit at the lowest point.

If the pipe is still firmly attached to the jet, it may have worn through where the pipe passes the hinges. It will be contained in the large flexi tube between the car and tailgate.

I will try to take it apart.

Do you know how the pipe looks like?

Anyway since it can basically empty 2 liters of fluid in like 10 seconds, I’m assuming it’s a big leak.

The chances are that the pipe has split between where the corrugated piping on the left top of the rear hatch and the wash jet is-there are some electrical wires and a washer pipe, find ,cut and insert a plastic connector to cure the leak.

Yeah the pipe was split at the top. And I fixed that!

Now I have another problem. Because some fluid leaked in to the electronics cables. Now my front sprinkler does not work. When I pull The leaver nothing happens, all of the sudden. The back works.

Any ideas?

The GPs washer pump is a single one; rear / front sprinkling is selected by the way it rotâtes, clock or anti-clock Wise, which depend on how the body computer feeds it. That means the pump is ok if rear sprinkler works. Do you hear it when trying to spray the windshield ?

If someone here helped You fix -or better, understand- your issue, hit the thanks icon @ bottom right corner, it's free and makes us feel helpy ;-)

Okay that is strange then!

When i pull for front wash, nothing happens. No sound, nothing, just silence. When I push for rear, it just works normal.

I opened everything and just didn’t know what was wrong.

So I just switched the tubes at the pump. Now I have in the front and no in the back. But front is more important hehe.

I think that in the body computer the pump is "H" bridge driven, so if one of the mosfet is dead the pump would only rotate in one direction …

Maybe …
