My friend has a problem when her outside door handle wasn't working but you could open the door from the inside.

Someone who had NO idea what they were doing thought they would be able to fix this issue by ACTIVATING the child lock???

So now the door won't open from the inside or outside!!

I need to get that door open and fixed. Please help!

I know you're not replacing the handle, but dismantling it like this will at least help you figure out what's wrong based on the pictures.

I think the door needs to be opened in order to access the bottom screws :-(

This is my main concern :/

This is a known problem, I got the problem too, i got a black GP, every time the sun shines at the left rear door it is impossibly to open it, try to cool the door using water, that might help.
There is a video how to fix it at YouTube. Search for "Fiat Grande Punto back doors jammed".

I have same problem on a Grande punto both rear doors could only be opened from inside and I turned the child lock switch on one and now it won't open at all,I will check out YouTube as suggested.

That was my comment to the previous answer (the tuto link)...

I am really afraid that You will have to use brute force to open your rear door, unless the central locking system still works ?

On the YouTube video I watched yanking on the door handle while pushing on the top of the door seems to open it and the cure is only a bodge but it doesn't make clear which of the two parts of the mechanism is worn out ,however by looking on e bay the amount door handles one seller has sold I suspect it's the handle part that needs replacing.

Right I have tried the opening method in the you tube video pushing down at the top of the door while yanking the handle upwards does indeed open the door.
