Hi All,

I bought a new elm327 lead specifically designed for multiscanecu apparently as my old lead refused to connect to anything other than engine. This new one connects to everything expect the proxy alignment procedure. Just says unreliable connection detected. I've set the port speed to the same in both MES and the driver. And using correct yellow adaptor. Any ideas ? I'm going insane. Thanks!

Ben

The 'unreliable connection' could be one of the modules not the cable connection from your computer.
The need for a proxy alignment comes when one or more module in the system no longer communicates with the others, or has been replaced. Instead of the alignment, try some diagnosis to try to identify which module is not communicating.

I've connected to every other module the car was equipped with. All connect fine all connect fine and show data. Also tried it in my bravo and all connect expect proxi there too.

Perhaps you might like to explain what issue you are trying to address. Might be able to get more help.
You seem to be referring to 'modules' as engine, ABS, etc.
Within the whole car are lots of minor modules, all communicating via CanBus, and if you have a flashing mileage, one of these minor modules is not happy.
Lots of people have had problems with Blue&Me, it gets indigestion and makes the mileage flash. These are often the cause of 'unreliable connection' reports, but it is the Blue&Me module that is dead, not the connection.
Recently a friend replaced the complete door on a Croma. The mileage then flashed, because the CanBus module in the door was not the one the body computer expected. Although locks and windows still operated. A proxy alignment fixed the flashing mileage issue.
I still think a diagnostic request may indicate which component is suffering the poor connection problem. Then a cure may be possible, which then allows a proxy to work.

Spot on portlandbill and dead right about the door.

I swapped out my factory stereo that was knackered in the stilo.. as soon as i replaced it with the identical model from the same year car, mileage flashed... it had a different serial number ;) and i had to re-do proxy alignment to stop mileage flashing and reactivate radio menu on dash.
