Hi guys I have a 3 door grande punto. All of a sudden the passenger window just stopped working, first of all it went up and down randomly and then just stayed down. Managed to get the window back up and it's now stuck in place. All fuses are fine and no garages can find out what the problem is, even though one diagnosed it as a £90 regulator. Any suggestions from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Split wires in the drivers side door in the black rubber sleeve between car body and door.

Loads of threads appearing now on this problem. It's a poor design fault.

Might be a broken motor, changed my O/S window motor a few weeks back, easy enough to do with a bit of patience, got a replacement part on eBay for about £20

Depends on the fault.

Mine had five split wires inside. Repaired it myself with a solder iron and heat shrink. I'm not mechanically minded and it took me several hours. It was that or spending 250 on a new loom.

If you can check these things it's worth doing.
