Hi Folks,
All of the suddenly, the AC on my GP is only working when I set the knob to the 4th speed.

Any ideas?

Does the blower still work?

Or the air con itself weak (which it is anyway on most superminis)

The connection will probably be burned out at 1, 2 & 3... search the forum for it, lots of stuff and good guides/pictures of what to do.

When I set the knob to the 4th speed, the system seems to be working fine, so I guess the blower is still working.

Now that you mention it, the lights on the panel are also burned out, do u think it might be related?
I'll look around for some guides.

Check the well known problems threads, resistor pack probably burnt out

First basic check you want to do is start the engine, bonnet raised ,switch aircon on..Your engine cooling fan should start running at half speed ,then it will switch off ,then on and off etc ,If it doesn't the resister in the top of the fan cowling will probably have failed ..When you switch the aircon on is the pump definitely working ,and do you definitely have gas in the system ,as a vehicle will lose it's gas over a period of time and you may just need a simple re gas
