hi my heater fan is not working i have tested fan this works i have looked at resistor no burnt wires tested resistor with multi meter ok bought a new heater control panel still doesnt work i tested wires coming in to speed switch i got 12 volts then when i tested again got nothing i managed to get 12 volt twice with ignition on but cant seem to get it again checked fuses all ok thinking could be the wiring please help im stuck now dont know what to do next:bang:

Hi, Is it possible to bypass the speed switch with some bits of wire to see it you can get the fan running at one speed? If it does then it would point to the switch. I take it you have checked that the fan is moving freely in the housing and not getting jammed?

did try to bypass switch with wires but i am not getting 12 volts any more from switch connector i have ignition on 2

Cant you get another switch from a breakers yard to rule that out? Probably going to be a process of elimination unless someone replies that has had your fault before. Sorry cant be more help!

I bet you're ready to pull your hair out now then! Have you tried replacing the fuse regardless of how it looks, sometimes they can play up. It sounds like can only be the fuse, fuse holder, the relay if applicable or the wiring in between.

right just been out and tested both switches i have with multimeter and both are working then turned ignition on and tested fuse in engine bay with earth on battery and other on fan fuse but no 12 volts from either side of fuse? does this mean loose wire some were

Have you tried doing the same on another fuse just to make sure you get a reading doing it like that? Did you pull the fuse and check if there is a supply in the holder? I'm sure someone that has the answer will post soon for you mate.

did manage to pull resistor out after being upside down for 30 minutes tugging at it no black or burnt connections but will check connections tomorow does power go to there before switch? and should i get power on fuse even if bad connection on resistor?

Apparently if you put the switch on number 4 it bypasses the resistor anyway so that will help narrow things down a bit. You didn't answer if there was power under the fuse with the ignition on? All i'm thinking is that its either the wiring to the fuse or the wiring from the fuse that seems to be the problem. I would have thought that the power goes to the fuse first before the resistor for safety. It is fuse F18 40amp that you checked isn't it?

Tryed tester without fuse in no 12volts think might have to lift fuse box check connections

is the green 30 amp fuse for the heater fan?

The manual says F18 you are pointing at 31 aren't you? Definately says F18 40 amp, check your manual as it shows where it is too.

Its the big orange 40 amp top right next to the big blue one and black relay.
