I bought a 2011 Grande Punto Evo GP a few months ago, like everything about it except.... on a long journey the seats become very uncomfortable and I get back pain for several days afterwards, it's fine on short journeys. I'm thinking about upgrading the front seats to cure the problem, has anyone had a similar experience, or any ideas on the best options to cure the problem?

It's definitely worth getting some new seats if there not comfortable for you, my grandad owned a old escort for a year or so and it really messed up his lower back and had trouble driving any car after that for quite some time. You could look into getting some abarth evo seats possibly? I have a GP T-Jet with the sporting seats and theyre very comfortable, even on a 4 hour journey! Unfortunately they dont have a lumbar support which is irritating, seats with lumbar support could be good for you. Iv'e never sat in a evo so I don't really know how the seats compare though, sure someone else will have some helpful input for you too (y)

I think eleganza seats have an electric lumber adjust so they might work for you.

Thanks for the information, I'm definitely going to replace the seats, its just a case of finding some that will cure the problem, I did a 250 mile trip in the car and couldn't sit anywhere without considerable pain for several days.

Ps I have sporting seats and while they are fine for a few hours I do miss having a lumber adjustment so I'd go for elegansa seats if I were you. Not sure what will be involved in wiring up the lumber adjuster though.

I should think all the loom for the lumbar support is already inplace in the lower models, the Eleganza seats should just bolt and plug in, might need an extra 1/2 wires parralelling off a 12v suply to give power to the switch and motor?
