Technical How to move grey thing

Anyone know what the grey thing in the image is for and why it won’t move, the seat is stuck in the forward position just got the car and wondering how to move it back since it looks like that’s what’s stopping the whole seat from moving. The driver side version of the grey thing is much further back but this one won’t budge any idea how to move it?

If its the 3 door.. tilt the seat forward..see if it slides

If its the 3 door.. tilt the seat forward..see if it slides

Tried that it won’t budge at all because the grey thing seems to be moving with the seat whereas on the driver side it stays in one place towards the back of the rail
