Hi,

Brakes are finally due on the MJET. What disc and pad set up are people running?

I wanted to run either ebc grooved or brembo grooved discs with yellow stuff front pads but it seems yellowstuff does not exsist for the 1.9. So that leaves me with greenstuff or some brembo pads but judging from the price the brembo pads are just standard replacments, not uprated.

Doesnt look like Mintex do anything fancy either.

Any experience on a MJET and what they perform like? Might just go for green stuff pads with ebc grooved discs.

Thanks,

Ben.

Yeah they will be declared with insurance company, already checked.

Ah yeah cheers for heads up, mine will be coming direct from EBC though through work.

im on standard disks and pads all round, with HEL stainless braided hoses all round in red, with motul rb600 racing brake fluid, stops insanely well. and despite all my extra power, its definitely not under braked

Cheers Matt. I went for EBC grooved and dimpled discs and greenstuff pads. Not bedded in yet but they seem great so far. Will do brake lines and fluid at some point.

Were the brake hoses a simple fit, no problems?

got the kit here,

http://www.brake-lines.co.uk/fiat-grande-punto-1-9td-sporting-2006-hel-brake-lines.html

its a 6 line kit, but ive only fitted 4 lines so far, 2 at front and 2 at back. its a 6 line kit, as theres 4 hoses at the rear, but i couldnt seem to work out how to fit the final 2 hoses at rear, as i couldnt really get underneath only using a jack and axle stands. it seems the final 2 hoses are behind the rear axle, so quite awkward to reach!

if anyone knows how they fit, let us know! until then im happy with the 4 fitted, no sponginess, response is great

Spot on, cheers Matt!

Will look into it all, yeah getting everything at trade price through work does wonders for my bank balance lol.
