1.3 Multi jet Grande Punto 2007, done 50k, squealing sound fron engine under load only,
mechanic has advised it is the turbo gone, the car been great until I did an oil change and added slick 50 in, does anyone have an opinion, if this caused the failure?

Probably just the bearings have give in. Does it still perform normally or is there a lack of boost?

total lack of Boost, I just idle the engine to get around, will it be a new one required?

Yeah if your not getting boost it sounds like the internals have failed. Best place is ebay for not breaking the bank.
