today the box kept jumping out of 4th, no noises or crunching at all, just pops out after a few seconds?
is this a rebuild issue or does it sound like linkages?

in my old car i had this issue ended up being a worn gear due to the angle of the diff due to the car being lowered this is what was causing it to pop out of gear, also the wearing on the gear added load to the bearing on the lay shaft also killing that, id get it looked at :)

4th gear is an issue in tjets. I would get it looked at asap, last time i saw one take 4th gear out, it also took the diff out.

im on eibachs, could this have caused it? i wont be able to get the car to a garage untill next weds and have to get to work in the meantime

Depends how you drive it I guess, the gearboxes are **** in the tjets and mjets.

Drive it hard and it wont like it even if you do look after it. I'm taking my mjet to London next week for its first gearbox refurb.

ive been recomended a place about half an hour away, they have done 2 mates polo boxes about 600 i think, but with 1-2 day turn around

1st gear transmissions in Dartford. He done me a custom gearbox on my old Arosa sport.

1 day turn hopefully but at most 2.

Full bearing rebuild £500 or at worst full gearbox rebuild £800.

Just rang Jones Transmissions in wolverhampton, im going on monday for them to have a test drive and give me a quote. Funnily he knew straight away what gearbox i had as soon as i said grande punto  an aparently has hundreds of replacement fiat boxes on the shelf.
This is going to be a VERY expensive month, think ive spent about 3 grand on car/house bits :bang:

Yep, soon as i ring anywhere and mention my M32 gearbox they just know whats gone wrong lol.

Expensive month for me too, gearbox, turbo, tax and mot.

Buying a bigger turbo though with a decat downpipe to cheer me up haha.

I got my gearbox rebuilt couple of months ago just before it ran out of warranty, ive never had problems with 4th gear it was mainly trying to put it into reverse it use to take a couple of goes to get it in. Think it was down to a leaking oil seal, dont know if it really needed a full rebuild but I was lucky to still have it in warranty, i'd hate to think how much it would cost!

What mileage are these t-jet boxes failing at? I need to know when to start saving up!
