Has anyone had a remap recently? How much are they charging and do they still claim up to 200horses?

Im sorting a remap out for my mates mjet and might let them work their magic on my passat!

2years ago there was at least 1 person a week getting a remap done! Seems to of calmed down lately!

Maybe on the Astra 1.9cdti 150 lump. On a mjet punto no.

the astra 150 lump is a fiat engine

Technically they're the GM versions of the Fiat JTD engine- its the same engine but with subtle differences like the paper element oil filter cartridge on the rear of the block, as opposed to the identical but Fiat-spec version in the Bravo which has a more traditional spin-on filter mounted at the front.

In the last few years, Fiat-built engines for Fiats have the Fiat PowerTrains (FPT) logo embossed in the rocker cover.

Yeh but the 150 16v lump they give the Astra is far better than the 8v lump in the mjet for easy tuning. Still get good enough power out of the mjet though.

They got 185 out of my old mjet130. Alot of people were claiming close to, and a few above 200hp! i think 200 is either pub talk or pushing the gps capabilities.

All i wanted to know is of this is still the more popular choice of tuner on this forum and if they are still doing the deals they used to!

45k miles since remap at red-dot and the engine is still in rude health, touch wood! Guess the main reason you do not see much written about red-dot these days is that most GP owners have had their cars remapped, there should not be many left untouched! I got 170 bhp from the remap, I went for low down torque instead of all out bhp figures, really pleased with end result.
