Tuning Red dot remaps

Has anyone had a remap recently? How much are they charging and do they still claim up to 200horses?

Im sorting a remap out for my mates mjet and might let them work their magic on my passat!

2years ago there was at least 1 person a week getting a remap done! Seems to of calmed down lately!

if you have a diesel and 150 as standard near 200 after a remap is normal

Maybe on the Astra 1.9cdti 150 lump. On a mjet punto no.

the astra 150 lump is a fiat engine

Yeh but the 150 16v lump they give the Astra is far better than the 8v lump in the mjet for easy tuning. Still get good enough power out of the mjet though.

if you have the 8v 120 then you looking at between 150-170 after map

They got 185 out of my old mjet130. Alot of people were claiming close to, and a few above 200hp! i think 200 is either pub talk or pushing the gps capabilities.

All i wanted to know is of this is still the more popular choice of tuner on this forum and if they are still doing the deals they used to!

they are still good, you dont see so many people going because every one is skint now and either dont bother or they get a tuning box so they have some thing to sell on when they get rid of the car

45k miles since remap at red-dot and the engine is still in rude health, touch wood! Guess the main reason you do not see much written about red-dot these days is that most GP owners have had their cars remapped, there should not be many left untouched! I got 170 bhp from the remap, I went for low down torque instead of all out bhp figures, really pleased with end result.

People are going to different places because they are quite expensive, £365 for a remap and rr, where as tony (ex red dot) at tune4performance did mine for £200 and gave me loads of advice about what to do next.
