Just found out I should be regassing my air con every 2 years, so after 6 years mine is just abut empty I guess and not very cold!!!

Can I do this via a DIY kit or do I have to go to a garage to have it done?

Can anyone recommend a good kit or garage in Telford area?

Thanks.

yes you cab buy cans of gas from diy stores ...but ,to work on aircon by law you have to be registered through DEFRA ,best idea is either take it to a garage to get done ,or get a mobile lad out ,both should do a complete check on the system ,takes about 30 mins ,as the system has to pass and hold a vacum which takes 20mins,before the oil /dye and gas can be put in ..if it fails the vacumn then they are not allowed to fill the system ,as it is damaging to the ozone

Did mine myself last week with a kit from Halfords. Worked brilliantly, just wish I had found out about Kwik Fit doing it for a tenner less than the kit I bought :(

Should cost about £40 including deoderant/air purifier/germ killer. (y)

Got mine done from an indi for that.

Think Halfords Autocentres/hiQ/Kwackfat etc all do it.

Should be sealed for life in theory but as there are many seals in practise they leak,
You should run the a/c weekly summer and winter to lubricate seals.
