ive got my lowering springs, 30-40 and was wondering how you get the front the front springs off the 1.4 gp's because a mate of mine looked at my car today an said the back ones are simple to get off,

When he looked at the front ones, he said that the front springs are different, Theres a rubber/plastic cover covering the front springs help plz, as i really want to lower my car, i am worried in case they wont fit, plus how do remove the cover to get to the original front springs to change them

wts a scuttle panel lol, an why are the springs on the front different 2 the back ones, are they harder 2 get off at all an do u reckon il be able get the springs on if a garage does it, im worrying for all the wrong reasons aint i lol

Scuttle panel is the black plastic grill which is over the top struts.

as adam said, prob best for you to take it to a garage, that way you know it will be done correctly, you could end up doing a fair bit of damage.

Hi,

Ive just lowered my 1.2 DUB Edition on Eibach sportlines 50mm. The springs only cost £86 delivered off a nice ebay member hehe!.. Got a bargain i think.

Back to topic, I found that the fronts took around 1-2hrs, and backs took around half hr at most. Most annoying was having to remove the plastic in the engine to get at the top of the struts:bang:, whats point of putting them under there?.. Anyhow got it sorted and car runs and drives like a dream, would recommend eibach sportlines to anyone wanting to lower their car!.

are you referring the the concertina bellows in the middle of the coil spring? this protects the shock shaft and seals from dirt.

What ever you do make sure you do the job safely the front springs especially are under a high amount of compression on the strut and can cause serious injury if released from the strut without decent quality spring compressors fitted

if your not 100% confident in your/your mates ability take it to a garage to be done..
