My Bad... :p

Anyone else found those 2 side venturi inside the EGR yet?

Here is a picture of my shiney new saab sourced egr valve -i will put more detailed ones up when i charge my other camera. Will fit this weekend.
You can see the venturi's inside the valve - not sure where they exit though.

:D (y) Thats one of them, theres another similar opposite it...

Mine were invisible, clogged totally.... def need cleaning if we are to expect it to work... any techies know what the function of these 2 venturi is?

Well i'm officially a remaped mjeter. The tuning chip is up for sales though. I also disabled the egr ( we'll see how that goes). The car is smoother and it has power everywere! No juddering and no black smoke either. I'll go for a dyno soon to see what numbers we've accomplished. Really happy with the result;)

Ive only had my M-Jet since tuesday 26 or 27th and on way home.. It broke down : ( After travelling 200 miles to get it, I was rather upset. PPickup took me back to the garage and It was a clogged EGR Valve. Bearing in mind, At the time the clock had 14,43... something miles on it. It had no power what so ever. Pulled away got to about 5mph and it just stopped. They cleaned it and Its been fine ever since.. So a couple of days : P Lets hope I have no more problems aye! : S

is the same on the vauxhal CDTI engine and the sabb engine its built by fiat and sent to them, so if you go to a vauxhal garage and ask for the same part number they will give you the same part all shiny and new! with a vauxhal badge on it for 90 quid instead of 260 as quoted by my local fiat garage!

thats because fiat garage quoted you a new part price, the recon unit is about the same (£90)

Since i fitted the new Saab egr my fuel consumption has improved dramatically - better by 5 to 8 mpg on average. This is like having a free gallon of diesel every tank full. :D

glad to hear it was a quick fix,

does the modified swirl gasket improve the life of the EGR valve itself?

Its function is to speed up airflow through the EGR and thus leave less deposits in the system.

Or so we thought....

Cleaned mine again yesterday and it was still fairly sooted up (got into the habit of a 10k clean on the EGR now)

The courrugated pipe yet again covered in 5-6mm of soot all round.

Why does this need doing so much? never ever heard of this problem in any other car,

starting to wish we didnt buy this car

Sell it on then... any car you buy will have its own little foibles that will pi$$ you off
