Tuning Aftermarket Recirc. Dump Valve

It looks like that one is just mounted on the original recirc. valve

or am i wrong?

Nope the HKS is on a piece of hose coming straight off the intake, I don't think the stock recirc is even connected, it's hard to tell.. but unless that rubber hose that the SSQV is on has a Y-connector on it (which nobody's mentioned so I doubt it) then it must be just a blanked-off hose going to the stock DV.

Edit: but if that's the case then the boosted air bypasses the sensor on the stock recirc. so I don't get why there's no error codes coming up.. Just have to wait for a reply from Dangerous or someone else who's done it.

So what does everyone think of this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-HKS-SSQV-Universal-BOV-Blow-off-Silver-Ed-Boxed_W0QQcmdZViewIte

Does it look like a scam? I know Reaper said it could be fake but besides that?

Just thought id have my say :) tbh you dont even have to touch the recirc one that is already connected all that needs to be done is taking off the rubber shoulder pipe on the side of the engine fit the valve and lead the hose to the manifold, job done 15 mins!

Right, by shoulder pipe you mean the one that goes to the recirc, on the throttle to intercooler pipe?
Just take that off, block recirc, then fit BOV where the stock recirc takes its boost - this is what I was thinking.. do you take the vacuum off the recirc or do you mean literally, dont touch the recirc??

So I take it you have one fitted, what you got? :D

in the back of fast car they sell the things that go in your tail pipe and go whoosh when you drive along. perhaps that would give the effect you are trying for without screwing your motor up .
or if you are feeling really inventive you could ram a whistle in the air filter ......

on a big motor with a big turbo maybe, however, i dont think vin diesel will be racing me to the train crossing in my gps lol.
you aint going to make any difference to anything other than yer wallet buddy ...

No..... where do you think the boosted air goes when you come off the throttle? Magically escapes into the air? It goes straight back down the induction system, pushing the turbo in the opposite direction (thereby putting pressure on the already fast moving compressor wheel) Hence turbo chatter, and why they fit the recirc valve at the factory. They wouldnt use it if it didnt have a purpose......

all you will gain fron stock to aftermarket is a bit of bling.....
thats the point i was putting forward. good luck with it though;)

im off to shove a tin of lighter fluid up my tailpipe, then pinks in the subway with ker nee kee is on the cards... (showing me age now big time)

Cheers for the conern, Flint but as I said, my stock recirc is playing up and I thought I'd add a bit of bling under the bonnet.. not a bad thing is it??

It's not like I'm fitting an EDV or a microphone next to it.. and of course you need some kind of a valve on there be it a 120 T-jet or a 1000+ Dodge Charger
It's not even a loud BOV I'm looking at, and only reason I'm getting a BOV over a (silent) AEM recirc DV is because it seems nobody's fitted one. :( (Hence the name of the title).

Well thats good to hear, if you do put it back on (which I believe you will)
Put up a video of it on decent boost will ya

Im sure theres loads of people who would get one and just want that peace of mind knowing their system wont go balls up.

Anyway cheers again for getting back (y)

P.S what do ya think about the ebay bloke? I remember reading you got your HKS off ebay on the cheapish..
