Guys just need some advise

I lowered my punto with sportline springs ok had to compress springs when taking off obviously but did not have to compress the new springs on?

also there is slight movement in the spring when its back on the shock, now i know the spring will not move under the cars weight, has anyone had similar problems????

You havent seated it properly so take it off and put it back on again.

see the thing is matt, the springs are seated but there is still movement
the top nut was tightened all the way down

i never done them myself they were fitted by a mechanic/mot tester so he knows his stuff

can you get shortened dampers for the front? had a look but dont see any for the T Jet

Dunno i didnt do them. Shouldnt have to though you only compress them to get them off because they are under pressure so would go flying off if you took them off the shock without taking the pressure off them.

I didnt have to compress mine when I put mine on, with the top nut screwed down there was no movement in them

not sure what to do then, there is movement in the spring when it was put on the shock but its solid when on the car due to the weight

need to have a look for shortened shocks but cant see any for the T Jet

Abarth, What you are suggesting is treating the symtoms not the cause, by changing the dampers.
Work through it backwards otherwise you car may be very unstable at the moment when you require it most- Tyre / Grip trade-off!

Here is a thought, that is not impossible- What if the springs you have had fitted are the incorrect ones!

Check and re-check

On mine with the top mount on and tightened down, you could turn the spring if you tried, the spring is only just long enough to stay seated, but the spring did not rattle about by itself and obviously when back on the car there is no problem. (i did fit mine myself) it does sound like your mechanic has either cocked it up a bit or the springs are not quite right.

just to add to your probs, mine are spot on.

i bet they are the wrong springs. when i ordered mine i spoke to the eibach people with all my handbook details, better safe than sorry.......

I worries me that i might have the wrong springs. Ive not idea the box just says Fiat grand punto (199). But then again the box wasn't sealed so who knows what the actual springs are.

Edit: http://www.potn.co.uk/p1331654.htm

It looks here that i HAVE got the right springs (if thats whats in the already open box, lol)

Just wondering, it says drops front by 40-45 and back by 30. Well might just be me but it looks like the back of my car needs dropped more than the front?

Ok im a bit worried that i might not have the correct springs, it says here http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/category_results.mhtml?category=eibachsportlinesprings;car=fiatpunto;manufacturer=eibac;sub_category=1

there apear to be two different ones? but they all the same? i cant work it out, is the Tjet springs same as the Mjet ones? Im really confused, like i said it says on the box grande punto (199)

check they springs you have are the right ones, there was a report on here quite a while ago with some with the right box but wrong springs in it. The springs have the product number on them, so check it out with eibach to make sure there correct.

@ beany_bot yes the car dose have a nose down stance with the lowering springs on, the back could do with being down abit more. Its not too low at the front to have problems with speed bumps, etc.. You will notice that there are better than the STD springs, much better grip, less body roll and more comfortable - i found the STD crashy and hard. If you want the back lower, ull need to go for collies am afraid
