i test drove a 1.9 multijet today and the advert says its a 16v, but i cant find any other 16v 1.9, all the others seem to be 8v.
the technical info on autotrader also says its 8v!
cheers!

all the 150 mjets are 16v, even the stilo one was;)

and the punto being the 130, its an 8v, all the punto 1.9 diesels are 8v,

the 1.3 is a 16v;)

you would think dealers would know better:ROFLMAO:

edit: apparently, the new phase 2 1.9 gps's are 16v, learn something new everyday:D

You are right. The Delta though has a double turbo 16v engine.

and more than 150bhp too:D

as i said, its the pahse 2 gps's that are 16v, they dropped the 1.9 sporting, then all of a sudden it re-appeared in phase 2 guise 1st as a 5dr the the 3dr, and its a 16v:cool:

The Series 2 1.9 is the same engine as the Series 1, 8v.

It was only built for a very short time, before being dropped from the range completely in favour of the still-to-be-released 1.6 16v 120 engine.

its still for sale, is there any chance that, becasue the 1.6 is delayed, and they stopped production of the 1.9 8v, that they are now using the new Torque 1.9 16v (134bhp) that they use in brazil? as an interim;)

its still for sale
It is still for sale, but only whilst stocks last. You can't order one from the factory. The last time I looked (about 2 weeks ago when I nabbed the last Crossover Black one) there were only about a dozen left, all in New Orleans Blue or Rap Yellow.

The Series 2 was only actually built for about 6 weeks, basically just to use up the remaining engines after the changeover last Summer.

cans still order it on there website though, thats naughty, and wouldnt it be sensible that when they changed over they made sure the replacement engine was ready:bang:

but then, this is the italians, and they dont make things simple

and i did say maybe? i too thought they were all 8v, but this made me doubt myself, stupid websites:mad:

You can still configure it on the website, but not order it.

I agree that it is a bit naughty, but I suppose Fiats justification would be that there are still unsold units available.

its a good trick, make someone order it, then tell them its not available, but you can have this one at a reduced cost, sneaky, good way of getting rid of old stock:devil:

So there are only a dozen left for supply in the UK? I have been waiting patiently for the 1.6 to arrive before I order mine - I originally wanted a 1.9 in new orleans blue with a couple of options but was told that none were left matching my spec. It looks like either a basic spec blue one or a yellow one with everything!

Do you have any inside info on the arrival of the 1.6? Not very impressed with Fiat's lies in saying it would be available in January, then pretending they never promised it in the first place!(n)

Sorry, nothing yet.

I have a few customers waiting for it to be released, so have been keeping an eye on both the ordering system and Fiat bulletin board for months.

Last I heard, my previous order for a 1.6 16v (now cancelled) was going to be confirmed in January with an expected delivery in March 09.
