Does anyone know if issues with EGR valve are covered within the third year warranty, had check engine light come on phoned dealer advised me diagnostics were chargeable in third year of warranty so call the AA who connected obdII reader which diagnosed EGR fault.

Is this a commond fauld with 1.9Multijet sporting should it now be fixed under warranty or will the dealership now fix it from aa report or will they try and charge me for another diagnostic, which would be the best dealer in the swansea area to goet this work done

Chances are it will be fixed under warranty, mine was and most you read about will be.

Dealer may charge a small amount for Diagnostic/Investigation work however. I paid a small amount but id rather that than pay for the work itself.....

Get to your dealer and speak with the Service manager or DET. See what you can come up with.

Third year should cover an egr fault, the dealer wouldnt normally take the AAs word for the fault as they may be required to supply an examiner printout. Diagnosis is chargeable on third year BUT most dealers do not charge if the fault is covered under warranty.

I had mine into the dealer today, after crawling up the motorway last night at 45 mph max and using 3/4 tank diesel doing a 130 mile journey home, they never even mentioned any charge for looking at it and that it would be fully covered under my 3rd yr warranty. (y)

Hiya

My 'CHECK ENGINE' warning has come up on my dashboard display, and the warning light stays on too............but the car seems to be driving fine........

Do you think it will be OK to drive the car as normal until I can get it into the the Fiat Garage.........?

Malc........
