Hi all, I have a GPS T-jet and im in need of a set of front tyres. been thinking of going to a 215 40 17 instead of the 205 45 17. doing this im hoping to lose a bit of the tyre roll in hard cornering and a bit better handling due to slightly wider tyre. I was thinking michellin but they are a hard compound so good in dry not so good in wet and I live in North Wales so its always wet!!!

Let me no wat you think and wat you think of the tyres your using, thanks in advance.

Joe

ive asked about this before mate:

https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto/170483-good-price.html

have a look at those two they should help a bit(y)

Also wat about tyres with a higher load rating so the walls or the tyre would be stronger and have less flexi in them when cornering, just another thing my local tyre serives mentioned, thought I'd ask of peoples opinions on here too.

Thanks

you guys crease me sometimes.. I get at least 15k out of my tyres, in fact, I have only replaced them once in the last three year, except that I have a new car now... so ask me in two years time.

At the moment I done about 8350 miles and they will need changing very soon and thats driving with esp on at all times

Glad its not just me then. Im down to the indicators on the tyre so ive stuck them on the back and im now wearing down the back tyres which have gone on the front.

Great, thanks for that. What engine do you have? Tjet? And what tyres do you put on? I did over 20k on my last set of tyres on my last car and they were no way near being replaced so meh

my tyres are well on the wear blocks, been to my local tyre service today and he said they need changing very soon. I do drive it hard on the bends thou, but thats the point in having a sporty little car, to drive it hard and have fun. isn't it

It's only a 1.4 Active Sport, just turned 5k miles on the original Pirelli tyres. Used to have a MK2 ELX before that and ALWAYS used Avon tyres, best bang for the buck (as they say in the USA)

If you are running tyres down at such an alarming rate << than 8k then you must be ragging the arse of your cars, especially at junctions.

tyres are made to last a specific amount of miles under "Normal Driving Conditions"

Its not an alarming rate. Its got torque, its got soft tyres on it therefore they get worn down fast when im driving hard through corners so nothing to worry about. If i cared i would put cheaper harder compound tyres on it to make them last longer and not drive it so hard in corners.
