Has anyone done this?? I think it would look great, but am not sure how the paint will stick, since the dash is kinda soft and spongey..

Heres a VERY quick photoshop I done. (will be a better colour than this)
Comments and advice appreciated.. New pic in post 13

when my friend was 17 he bought a yellow maestro and though it would be great to paint the dash yellow, right up to the windscreen. only thing was.......when it was sunny it reflected back onto the winscreen and you couldnt see anything. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Nice work on photoshop.
I think it could look ok, but a lot of colour coded interior parts look tacky on most cars id say.

I was thinking about painting my Bravo interior black but others on the forum said it would scratch easily and i think they are correct.

If your really want to id get a piece of the rubbery trim and test paint that.
This way you can see if it scratches and see how the paint takes to it.

If the plastic is quite soft you may need special paint/paitn additive that is moveable. I cant remember what its called but its used on plastic bumpers.

i see where you all are comming from.. but I like it.. the black and grey dash is just too dull for me. (that aint my car in the pic) It screams out to be livend up a bit..

If you are going to do it:)(), make it dark blue like your car, and do it properly with car paint so it looks like bodywork. "best" way i could think of doing it. please not that ghastly purple.

Oh that was a 2 second job in photoshop.. it will be (or as close as) to my body colour.. But like said, i think it does require speacial paint which is flexible, so might be hard to get a perect match..

dont know what paint you might need (im no expert) but i know that to paint the "flexible" inflatable part of my RIB (boat) i needed hypolon paint, its weird, its like rubber but paint but warning it was £80 a litre (for basic colours only) and it was very matt.

 il not be paying that.. maybe call in with my motor factors, and see what they say.

the chrome would be hard to do... ud need a strip of chrome and ud have to cut and bend it into shape.. Id think chrome paint would cost a ridiculous amount of money..

Anyways, another photoshop, probably more suited to the colour of the car... spent a bit more time matching the colour etc...

mate this was one of the very first modd to do. i tried to make it crome. the thing is that the painter told me that he had to brake loose this ''face'' to paint it high gloss black and then crome it.but i didn't want him to brake it.so instead i cromed the little plastics on the dashbord.you know the one that are silver. it turned out major sh... that was because it reflected the black interior and was black all the time.it didn't seem anything to chrome. so i believe something similar will happen if you try to do such a thing. i am trying to figure out a way without breaking the dash to surround with red leather.hope it turns well!

im not doing mine in chrome dude, lee was saying he would like the strips in chrome.. But i understand what you mean about the dash.. i had a quick look there myself, and it looks like its gonna have to be painted in the car (n)

@adrian - i was thinking this myself, the dash is quite rubbery and spongey, and i have a feeling that in the summer when it heats up, the paint might strech and break off, again a big (n)

well this rubber surfice can be removed and you can paint the inner plastic. do you want to sucrifice this thing?

i spoke to a compony called autostop. they said that they can remove this surfice and put another in and what ever the colour is.and without removing the hall face.so no paint at all. just another trim colour.

would be better, but am sure the price is high..

besides, modifying is all about trying things yourself, then if you balls it up you can pay someone else :D
