While reading an article in Auto Italia on the new Alfa 147 Q2 I noticed it stated that you can retro fit the Q2 limited slip diff to any Multijet Alfa. Now I believe that the same engine is in my GP sporting (all bar that it is an 8v instead of 16v) and the question is , Will this LSD fit into a Grande punto sporting? There may be some problems to adress but the engine and gearbox are essentially the same----- are'nt they?
Any body got any views on this?

Cheers Stu.

Useful if you are going racing but on the road? Is it worth it?

Sounds like a brilliant idea, I'd love a limited slip diff on my GPS.

Have many of the alfa guys done this? Maybe theres a few on the alfa forums.

Keep us posted if you find anything (y)

If you read the article the author seems to think that the LSD on the alfa 147 and the GT coupe really improves the handling and grip. These are not for track days as they are a standard fit on the Alfa 147 Q2 / GT coupe Q2.

This negative comment is just the same as those that said disc brakes would never catch on when Jaguar fitted them onto their cars in the early 60s. I think it was a Mr Ferrari who said that!!!!!

I might send an e mail off to the garage that fit them to Alfas for reasonable sum as advertised in Auto Italia.

I do a lot of my driving on A and B roads so the improvemnt on grip and handling would be usefull. Also I could knock the grin off those Golf GTI and Focus ST drivers when a humble punto out performs them, Eeeeh Haa!

Keep us informed with any info you find out, i'm interested in this.

Like you said, LSDs are not just for track days there are plenty of cars with them fitted as standard, not cheap though.

The GPS is the underdog and I love it. BMW drivers hate me for embarrassing them in front of their girlfriends, and quite rightly so!

Still waiting for a reply but I found the The suppliers site. The cost of the diff is £260 and it says it fits all Alfa multijet 8v , 16v . 5 speed and 6 speed , surley the engines and drive trains are the same as a GPS. I await their reply.
Cheers Stu.

got a reply from the supplier www.ahmotorsports.co.uk and they said "not sure about the GPS but if it is the same gearbox as Alfa jtd it will fit".
Going to try another couple of dealers.
Cheers Stu
