no need to email, were all friends here:)

I would say get the 1.4 engine but I understand what you mention by insurance.

I'll put this post in styling/mod section,in meantime look through GP section for answers;)

post pics of the car as it is now, would love to see the body kit. maybe think about changing your induction kit to a GSR one which you can get from a member on here

The members name is oldschool. He makes the kits himself and they are proven better than other indution kits on the market, in performance and sound. I'm not entirely sure if there is a kit available for the 1.2 I think grandeJ has one?

PM oldschool or I'm sure he'll see this post and comment.

be prepared to spend money on decent engine mods, just because it says 'high flow' on the box doesn't mean it will give gains. if you are really into tuning your engine the sky is the limit but I sense you won't be going as far as turbos etc. Don't expect too much difference from your 1.2

cheers mate, i know about prices and everything and i am willing to put some time and money into the motor itself, i love the car, unfortunatly finding such modifications for the 1.2 is providing a hassel, the sky is the limit, but unfortunatly im having trouble looking up to see it in the first place, any ideas of websites or places??, being as though i live in jersey, unfortunatly i cant even drive there . . . .

Use GSR for your induction kit

use Supersprint for your exhaust

Use GSR for cams and headwork.

Use red dot racing for your ECU remap

That should keep you busy ;)

When I was 19 I had a 1.4 16v Sporting (Insurance Group 7) and the insurance wasn't that bad most quotes where <£1000. Unless you got a bad driving history. I wouldn't bother putting that much money into tuning it as its like trying to polish a 'turd' :p.

Correct. The engine work mentioned is going to set you back no less than 1k which could go towards insuring a faster car.

@ tozzle - red dot can map a 1.2, ring them or speak to oldschool.

ah rightey o, was only looking at the site

ye, and in the end who wants a polished turd????

by the looks fo things me :D, cheers for all the help guys, never knew about this forum till yesturday, i understand what your saying about the whole 1.2 and that, but the whole problem was, stay with a broken fiesta, or get a car now with enough money left over to do something with it, id rather have a 1.2 which looks and sounds nice, than a stock 1.6, remember i live in jersey the max speed limit is only 40, so that has something to do with it i guess it keeps me from speeding....a little

anyways i just took some shots of my car after the gym, needs a bit of a clean but give me your thoughts anyway....

p.s before u say lower it...read above^^
:):p

lol yer i know what you mean, i wasnt to sure if the kit was too over the top, there are some saxo's over here which are stupidly chavvy, but i suppose theres always bound to be a name for them, the fitters did a good job anyway and i love it...boys and their toys :)

gp tuning

hi guys, i put in a post ages ago but unfortunatly cant locate here, , im looking for the nearest GSR dealer around the south west of England, as im currently trying to locate the induction kit for it, and possibly thinking about tuning it, due to my age i had to opt for the 1.2 8v punto which due to my money state now was a good idea, however its a project after all and im in the process of modifying it, was just wondering if any of you guys have any experience in the particular model, and if you do, feel free to give suggestions on particular engine/ exhaust modifications, its my first real project and want to make a good job of it cheers

Re: gp tuning

hi there mate, welcome to FF.

first off you can only get the GSR kit from GSR themselves at the moment. there based out of watford.

coupled with that your best bet would be a Red Dot Re-map with a full manifold included Supersprint exhaust.

also ditch the body kit its gash and un-aerodynamic.

other than that the search function is your friend.

Re: gp tuning

alright mate cheers thanks alot for your help, probably wont go for the whole ditching of the bodykit as you can imagine, any ideas where i would get the re mapping from unfortunatly i come from jersey channel islands, but im bringing my car over to england at somepoint, cheers for all your help, any idea on the gains id get with the exhaust and remapping combined?
