Introduction
When my brother passed away in 2021, I was told that the Barchetta he had owned and I thought had sold was in storage and had been for over 10 years
After speaking to a few people, I eventually tracked down where it was, in a storage container not far from where I lived.
I cleared all the other stuff that was in the container and eventually, dug the Barchetta out, got a man with a low loader to bring it back to my house where over the coming weeks, I got it back up and running
Over this period, I learned a lot, although I had worked on cars when I was much younger, as I had only had company cars for many years, I hadn’t done anything since my early 20s
The timing belt was first as if the engine didn’t run, it wouldn’t have been worth spending much money on it.
Timing belt done the first weekend, flushed through the fuel system and damaged the fuel pump, so, with the help of @Barchetta Bloke 440 , fuel tank complete was replaced.
The engine fired up on the first pull, such a happy time!
Next was brakes, new discs and pads all around, total flush and bleed of the brake system
Then after a bit of a clean up and check, I got it ready for the MOT
On the third attempt, it passed another happy time. I was able to drive the car properly for the first time
