I was struggling quite a lot until I changed accelerate to R2 and brake to L2 (Forza anyone? :D). I found it so much easier to control the power, especially around the long left hander.

In the tuned car I managed 1'38.925 and normal 1'52.243. Not sure I can improve my tuned time but I'm giving them both a go.

Thought I'd share that tip as it really helped improve my times

I did this almost straight away.....I wonder why they didn't make it the default?....Standard set-up is awful....And a separate 'throttle' for reverse.....What's that all about!? (n)

Thanks! I posted that and then dropped my normal time to 1min 51.555 a few mins later :devil:

To be honest it hadn't even occurred to me to change the button layout until I saw the option in the menus. Nothing beats a steering wheel from the looks of things but there's no chance I'm buying one.

Anyway, happy to hear the tip helped someone!
 
well im 4000th ish overall using the controller....i had a go on my mates wheel (logitec G25 £125 worth of kit) and was roughly 3 secs quicker than with the controller.
 
tryed the trigger controls for it on my old playstation but didn't really get on with it, i still use the D pad and x and square :eek: never really got on with the analogue sticks on the playstation controller for racing games, excellent for Cod games etc, but i just can't race with them.
 
Just had a quick go, 1st lap was just over my old record, 2nd was a tenth quicker, 3rd lap 4 tenths quicker than that and the quickest of the session was a 1'38.416, old was a 1'39.523 so no idea where that came from, same settings and controls, i think 1 less TC aswell. Quicker than my brothers time aswell:D
