My mate chipped my wii for me at the weekend, using the software hack, rather than any hardware mod involving taking it appart.
which means. still under warranty, it plays backups, still plays originals online, and plays copies online too. can upgrade like usual etc etc, all in all.. perfect

You just download the games, and burn them to a DVD.. and play away

wont feck ur wii up either.

i was on firmware 3.3e or 3.3u cant remember which. but it worked fine. either way, the homebrew channel has a firmware downgrader.

If its 100% safe then I'm up for that.

Definitely via homebrew, and you need to downgrade.

Plenty of guides about, look on wiihacks.com or gbatemp.

Personally, I am going to keep mine untouched.
